    Sweet Pastry

    Ingredients:

  • 200g plain flour
  • 125g butter (softened)
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • Method

    Beat the butter with the sugar adding the seeds scraped from the vanilla pod.

    Add the flour and the egg in stages, working lightly until you have a soft dough.

    Wrap in clingfilm.

    Chill for 30 minutes before using.

    Work the pastry gently when removed from the fridge until it is pliable.
